Moment of Truth

Crazy weekend of parties.
Fun and frolic, followed by an atomic hangover.

She stands alone amidst a crowd of friends,
Hoping for some reprieve.

Afterwards, in the silence of the night,
She wonders if it’s worth recording

The clear, deafening sounds
Of her heart breaking.
